Gold Coast (again)

At the Nothern end of the Gold Coast is a little inland sheltered bay, which has become known as Bum's Bay - not a very complimentary name is it?
This bay is popular with the wealthy Gold Cost people in their multi-million dollar yachts, the cruising community with their more practical and cluttered boats and also a bunch of locals who seem to live on anything that floats. really! I've seen 'boats' which have been made from Pallets tied to 40 gallon drums with a tent on top - rather them that me, but why not?

Only in Australia!

These two photos we taken from the same spot!

Look in front and you see high rise apartments and all of the other lights and attractions of the Gold Coast, whilst if you look to the side, you can see a dwelling (it'd be an exageration to call it a tent) made from trees and any other flotsome. Brilliant!
Gill playing with the kids. I'd given the kids a dollar to look after nanny. Gill's just happy to have someone to swim with, whilst the kids are just happy with their dollar. The whole Bum's Bay (not very complimentary name is it?) is extremely calm and a perfect place for the kids to paddle and swim. I even seen dolphins come in and cruise around the boats and beaches. The bay is only about 200 metres wide.
