Tipplers

Tippler's is an interesting resort on South Stradbrooke island. It is about 10 miles from the Gold Coast along the seaway which is an inland waterway that goes all of the way from the Gold Coast to Morton Bay. The resolt is very low budget and has a very low eco-footprint. The resort seems to only support tents and day visits. It is very popular with the motor boat cruisers and many people arrive for the weekend. The resort really comprises 4 or 5 sub resorts which all tailor to different needs. One of the resorts tailor to wedding parties.
On a previous trip here with Gill's cousin Kelly and her boyfriend Kyle we were anchored during the week with nobody else apparently around. A wedding party arrived during the afternoon, complete with one guy on a jet ski with a parrot on his shoulder. - honest After the wedding the bride and groom came out complete with wedding dress and were towed off on water skis - wierd. About 7 or 8 o'clock a barge came up the waterway and anchored in front off us. We thought no more about it, until maybe half an hour later when there was an almighty bang and we were treated to a fantastic firework display followed. This was really wierd because we had long since fogotten about the wedding, otherwise we were in total darkness and miles from any sizable buildings.
This is a local wallaby that used to come and forage along the 'riverside'. Pretty tame.
However not all the animals are cuddly. Absolutely millions of these jellyfish floated along whilst we were there. Apparently it was due to the warm weather, but either way they looked gross and ensured that nobody went swimming.
This boat seemed to keep following us and Gill seemed to have to go over and discuss thing with them. Never could work out why Gill liked the boat so much?
